      In Ashley's second Colorado Mountain novel (after The Gamble), a biker bar in Carnal, Colo., is the perfect spot for a divorcée who wants to work in an unmemorable place. Lauren Grahame is starting to enjoy the simple life she has created for herself when she meets one of the bar's owners, Tate Jackson. Though Tate is one of the most gorgeous men she has ever met, Lauren isn't sure she can easily forgive the insulting things he says after their first meeting. Tate's apology assuages her eventually, and Lauren can't help but be attracted to this man whose kindness is masked by his gruff exterior. As sparks fly between Tate and Lauren, she is threatened by a serial rapist, and Tate vows to keep her safe. Tate's domineering behavior is offset by his compassionate nature; in both cases he feels larger than life. Plentiful, graphic sex scenes will appeal to fans of racy romance.
